Therapy for Relationships

Our ability to connect with others is deeply impacted by how we feel about ourselves and our past experiences.

If you are struggling with negative thoughts about yourself, frustrated with having the same conflicts over and over again in your relationships, or struggling to set and maintain boundaries, you've come to the right place.

I focus on helping people thrive where it matters most: in relationship to themselves, others, and their environments. The therapeutic relationship can be a powerful tool to mirror, explore, and challenge relational patterns.

*My practice is trauma-informed, social justice oriented, sex-positive, LGBTQIA+ welcoming, and gender-affirming.

Why Cadenza Counseling?

Cadenza Counseling offers online therapy for relationship issues and supports those who struggle to feel secure or satisfied by helping them implement positive changes through increased self-awareness and compassion for their patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior.

My role is not to tell you what to do, but to help you identify your values and find ways to act in alignment with them. My only agenda as a therapist is to guide you toward developing an inner compass and a sense of stability that is largely free from external influences, including mine. I empower clients to:

  • Explore beliefs and values

  • Identify wants and needs in relationships

  • Recognize patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that contribute to relational challenges

  • Examine how self-esteem issues or past traumatic experiences impact current relationship dynamics

  • Set and maintain healthy boundaries

  • Understand the influence of attachment styles and interpersonal neurobiology on connections with others

  • Learn and apply tools for self-regulation

  • Develop interpersonal effectiveness skills

  • Utilize somatic, mindfulness-based, and body-focused techniques for emotional regulation

  •

My therapeutic approach integrates Attachment Theory, Polyvagal Theory, Interpersonal Neurobiology, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). My work is trauma-informed and social justice oriented.

Couples and Families

I work with couples and families who want to enhance communication, deepen connection, and improve overall functioning.

I offer online marriage counseling to residents of Colorado.

With extensive experience in group dynamics and conflict resolution, I bring a diverse background to my work. My past roles include serving as a Group Leader and Supervisor at a Therapeutic Wilderness Boarding School for teenagers, working as a Family Social Worker for the Department of Children and Families in Massachusetts, and leading a DBT Skills Group for individuals experiencing homelessness.
